Guilty

I’m late to the party tonight because I’ve been driving all day but…….

Good news, even though I’m sure he’ll never set food in a jail cell. It’s still good news.

Vote

Tonight at just after 7:00pm I cast ballot number 345 in Methuen, MA precinct five. It was just under an hour before the polls close. It’s 8:00pm as I type this so I can now say past tense, the polls closed.

There were no races of consequence, really. One local race was unopposed, another had about 15 candidates for 35 seats. Another was President Biden running against a few people I’ve never heard of who have zero chance of winning. There was one two candidate race. Maybe my vote will have meaning in that one.

That’s okay. I feel like a hypocrite when I miss an election. Even when there are no races that require a large turn out. We’ll have one of those in November this year. Vote against the fascists. Vote against the maga cult. Vote against trump. Vote for Biden. Vote Democrat. Let’s have a blue wave. We have eight months to organize. Let’s do it.

Two Local Political Events

Today is March 5th here in Massachusetts. This year that means two things.

First and foremost, it is Super Tuesday today. That means it’s Primary Election Day here as well as a bunch of other states. I have not voted yet. I plan to vote after dinner tonight. It’s going to be tight as far as time goes, but the polls are open until 8:00pm so I should be able to get there with time to spare. Keep your fingers crossed.

March 5th also has another noteworthy event, historically speaking. Today is the anniversary of The Boston Massacre. On this day in 1770 a bunch of Bostonians were shot by English troops. It was an important event that turned into one of our nation’s most famous propaganda vehicles, thanks in part to this Paul Revere image:

Here’s a link to the wikipedia article, which I did not read but am willing to assume it is accurate because trust is a thing. Also, I took the image from wikipedia as well.

I could have sworn I had a photo of the victim’s memorial that is in the Granary Burial Ground in Boston, but I can’t find it anywhere. I guess I’ll just have to go for a walk down the Freedom Trail this summer to take another pic.

Anyway, go vote (where applicable).

Apology Letter

I just heard that Sidney Powell (remember her?) has plead guilty in her Georgia election subversion case.

Here’s the CNN article.

Allow me to quote a portion of the story:

Fulton County prosecutors are recommending a sentence of six years probation. Powell will also be required to testify at future trials and write an apology letter to the citizens of Georgia.

By Marshall Cohen

Right then, let’s make this clear. What we’re saying here is that the penalty for trying to overthrow a presidential election is having to write an apology letter. Let me read it again…

Yup, six years probation, meaning no jail time, having to testify at future trials, which she would have been subpoenaed for anyway, and having to write an apology letter to the citizens of Georgia.

Yup, I think that’s what the article is saying. Rig a presidential election… write an apology letter. I’m sure it’s going to be utterly heartfelt and sincere, right?

Right?

Indicted Again

Third time is the charm? This is the one I’ve really wanted. String him up by his treasonous toes.

He’s still going to win the nomination by a landslide though because half of the people in this country are at best fascist sympathizers. There is no America left to save. Not really.

More Indictments Coming?

Trump went on his nazi social network today to tell us that he may be getting another indictment soon. This time for his actions on January 6, 2021.

Good.

Also, finally.

That’s what you get when you try to overthrow my country’s legally elected democratic government. I hope they throw him in jail for the rest of his life.

Granted, as much fun as all of these indictments are (this would make it three, and Georgia may soon make it four), I think the fun is wearing off. I think now what we need is some convictions. Especially convictions that are paired with long prison sentences.

Nazi filth like trump belong rotting in jail.

Donald Trump has been Arrested

It’s not as awesome as I would have thought, but it’s still pretty wonderful.

CNN Reports: Donald Trump under arrest ahead of historic court appearance

The arraignment was scheduled for 2:15pm, which was about 25 minutes ago. The hearing will not be broadcast so we won’t get to watch live. I don’t know if there will be video released after the fact. I hope so.

There are apparently 34 felony counts. They are all business related though, at least in part due to the Stormy Daniels hush money. None of them are related to his attempted coup on January 6, 2021. The nazi prick needs to go away forever for that, but I’d be okay with him already being in jail when that particular sentence is announced.

I was also hoping we’d get a mug shot to revel in for a while, but some of the stories I’ve read say he is not going to have one taken. Other stories say it’s unclear if he will or not, but it’s seeming a little doubtful. Oh well.

Happy Trump has been Arrested Day!

Happy Trump Indictment Day

The nazi pile of orange goo has apparently been indicted in New York. I’m not up on the details, partly because it hasn’t officially been released, but I’m pretty tickled with glee right now.

Happy trump indictment day!!

Florida is a Fascist State

I just read an article about a bill that was submitted to the Florida state legislature that would require bloggers who write about state government officials (like that prick DeSantis) to register with the state and face fines for posts made while unregistered.

DeSantis is a nazi and the state government is a fascist, un-American body.

I guess if the bill passes I won’t be going back to Florida. That’s okay, there’s a Disney park in California too. Watch me as I refuse to surrender my rights to free speech to a nazi institution. Go on, watch me.

I was thinking about posting another film picture to close out my lunch break, but then I read that article and now I am too pissed off.

Fuck you, Florida state government. You nazi shits.

Election Day

It’s funny. I took part in the Massachusetts early voting program this year and cast my mid-term election ballot a couple of weeks ago. While I am very grateful to be able to vote ahead of time, it does really suck the life out of the actual election day. It’s like opening your Christmas presents early. When the big day comes, it’s not a big deal anymore.

As a Democrat in Massachusetts it’s safe to say that my votes were not really necessary. The polls and the fund raising all point to landslide victories for all of the Democratic party candidates. That’s fine with me. If you live in a state with more closely contested races, I really hope you make it to the polls today, if you haven’t already, and I hope you vote Democrat. Say no to nazis disguised as republicans.

Fascism = bad.

Happy election day. Here’s hoping it’s not the last one we get.
