Will They Let Me Get Away With It Again?

I just turned on my all Blues Christmas music playlist.  Think the family will let me get away with leaving this on all the way through our family Christmas party tonight?

I don’t think so either.  I did it once, but twice is likely too much to ask for.

Not Brave Anymore

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I switched off of Chrome as my go-to browser after listening to a tech podcast.  I installed Brave on all of my devices and figured I’d never look back.  That was on December 3rd.  A week later those same tech podcast folks told me that they were off Brave and had uninstalled it and so long and thanks for all the fish (they didn’t go back to Chrome, they went back to Opera).

I decided to stick with it.  What the hell.  Sometimes when you’re a nerd it’s fun to buck the standard.  Well, as of today I’m back to Chrome (though I still have to set it as my default browser, can’t forget to to do that).  Why?  Because of wordpress.com.  Brave has some hefty security features and it was messing with the way some of my stuff displayed.  When I shut off the security everything looked fine.  When I turned it on it would block some things but not other things that came from the same source.

Oh well, back to Chrome.  Can DuckDuckGo be far behind?

Now, how do I set the default again?

Note: Every time I typed the word “browser” in this post I misspelled it as “browswer.”  What is wrong with me?

Santa’s Secret Identity: Confirmed

To-Do List

  • Finish my work day.  Just over three hours left to go.
  • Clean the kitchen.
  • Finish cleaning the new bathroom.
  • Start cleaning the dining room.
  • Figure out what to do for dinner.
  • Take a lot of Tylenol because my back and my legs are killing me.
  • Wrap the last few little gifts that need to be wrapped.
  • Talk my wife into going to the movies to see Star Wars again.
  • Put my Vox amp back in the living room and plug the keyboard into it.  Maybe put my little 15 watt Fender out there too, on the off chance someone wants to learn some Christmas tunes together.
  • Stress.  Not by choice.
  • Listen to non-Christmas music via headphones so as not to disturb those who actually enjoy Christmas music.
  • Try and fail to get some sleep.
  • Wake up tomorrow and clean the living room, the hallway, and whatever is still left to clean from tonight.
  • Run any errands that need running.
  • Have a Christmas party with Jen’s side of the family.
  • Sleep
  • Have Christmas at home.
  • Have Christmas at my sister’s house.
  • Sleep

All roughly in that order.  Or not.  Who knows.  HoHoHo.

Lights

Jen and Harry and I went for a Christmas Lights viewing drive last night. Bellana was up in Vermont visiting friends so she wasn’t with us. I missed her. We found two places in Salem. One was very tasteful and nice. The other was humongous and crazy and most of the houses on the street joined in.

It was not really enough to bring the Christmas spirit fully, but it was a start.
