Major League Baseball Post Season

As I mentioned yesterday, the crushing end of the Bruins season in game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals took all of my sports-watching interest and flushed it down the toilet.  I had been following the Red Sox pretty closely prior to that, even though they were mired in a spectacularly mediocre World Series hangover, but once the Bruins lost I just couldn’t bear it anymore and I more or less gave up on baseball entirely.

Due to this, I have no idea what’s going on as the playoffs begin.  I missed the wild card games entirely, and now we’re into the Division round and I barely know what’s going on.

Allow me then to announce who I am publicly rooting for in the MLB Post Season:

In the Houston vs Tampa Bay series, I am an Astros fan.  Screw you, Devil Rays.

In the St Louis vs Atlanta series, I don’t give a flying leap.  I hope they both lose.

In the Washington vs Los Angeles series, I also don’t give a flying leap.  Having said that, I hate the Dodgers with a passion, so I guess I’m a Nationals fan.  I guess.

In the Minnesota vs New York series, LETS GO TWINKIES!  BEAT THOSE EFFIN YANKEES!  In other words, I may have taken the season off from being a baseball fan, but I haven’t given up entirely.

Go Twinkies.
