Today’s the Day

It’s about 5:30 in the morning.  I can’t say that it’s earlier than my normal work routine because sometimes I do find myself up and about at this time on work days.  I got about 4.5 hours of sleep last night which will have to do.

In about 15 minutes we’re going to get in the car and head out for some breakfast and to stock up on caffeinated beverages.  The college student is stopping at a friend’s house for a last second goodbye, then we’re meeting up at Dad’s and off we go.

Mixed feelings, of course, but I am choosing to focus on the excitement today.  I can be sad tomorrow.  Today needs to be about her.  Excitement it is!

Our little family’s first college move in day.

Wish us luck.

  1. It’s so darn bittersweet! But I keep focusing on, “I know she’ll do great, I know she’ll do great” and I guess that’s going to be my mantra for the next few years. Somehow I think it’s going to be just as bad when it’s Harry’s turn. You know this day is coming but it’s still hard to prepare for!
