We were in Southern Connecticut yesterday and decided to take the long way home. We hugged the coast for a while, crossing into Rhode Island, and went searching for the ocean. We found it in Westerly, RI.
I had been there once before, about 15 years ago, visiting a friend. It’s gorgeous there. Just beachy perfection. Yesterday’s visit hammered that fact home to both me and my wife. If we need a weekend getaway to the ocean this summer, we’re going to look for places to stay down there.
We also found the house we want to buy.
The current owners seem to have the same sort of sit-and-stare-at-the-ocean interests that I have. We could tell when we rolled the car forward a few feet.
That’s our future, right there. Sitting on the adirondack chairs, watching the waves roll by.
