Last year after RPM ended I decided I was going to re-record a bunch of old songs and try to make them sound more… real? I guess that’s the word. Actual amplified guitars, actual bass guitar instead of software simulations. I was never sure how to go about having a human being play the drums, but I’ll jump off that bridge when I come to it.
I had eight songs in progress. Just about all of the parts were recorded, but few if any were the final takes. Almost all were just guide tracks. There were at least two more songs that I definitely wanted to do, but I never settled on an actual list of songs to focus on.
Well we’re into March again, and seeing as I failed miserably on last year’s project, I guess I will resurrect it and give it another shot. This time though I have picked about 90 minutes worth of music to work on, including the 10 I wanted to get to last year. The downside is I don’t think I remember how to play any of them, including the two on the list that I wrote last week.
Now being the net nerd that you all know me to be, of course I created a new temporary soundcloud account and uploaded one recording of each song on the list so that I could have a playlist to work off of.
And of course I am going to post said playlist on my bloggie, right?
Right.
