Uh Oh

When we bought our house in 2010 it was move in ready.  That was one of the things we liked about it and we took advantage of it.  It was move in ready, so move right in we did.  We started making plans for things to change.  Simple things, like repainting, as well as more complicated things, like our fantasy discussions of tearing down the wall between the kitchen and the dining room and renovating the whole shebang.

We made rough plans, but never did anything.  Seriously.  We haven’t changed anything.  All of the rooms have the same paint as when we moved in.  Nothing has changed inside, and the only thing that has changed in the yard is we had a dead tree removed.  That’s it.

Until now…

Oh hello there, Mr hole in the basement sub floor right on the edge of the tub.  Nice to meet you.  Don’t you look nice on this fine Monday evening.

Yeah, the bathroom is going to get a remodelling.  We’ve talked about it before (we don’t like the tub or the shower doors) but now we have to do it out of necessity.  Yippee!

And by Yippee! I mean, Urgh.

  1. WOW! That’s a lot worse than I thought. Is that photo taken from the basement, upwards to the ceiling of the basement? Because if so, that will need to be replaced too. We’ll try to get there pretty early on Saturday morning (by early I mean by around 10:00, or whenever Home Depot or Lowe’s opens) so there’ll be enough time to buy the materials and still have time to start the actual work. Sherm will have to look it all over first, so he’ll have a good idea how much wood to buy. We’re really sorry he’s not in good enough shape to tackle this project, but he can do some pretty good supervising and instructing! See you on Saturday.
