Did you know that the recent Deluxe Edition of the album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by Smashing Pumpkins has 92 tracks and runs for 5.8 hours? I am in the midst of a full blown 90’s rock nerd giggle with glee fest over this record. I was in pretty much the same state back in 1995 when the album originally came out. I was much the same in ’93 when Siamese Dream came out, and in ’91 when I first heard Gish.
I am the target audience for these reissues. Someone who was in college when the band was at its height, who is now an old fart with a desk job and money to spend on things like this.
92 freakin’ songs! WOOHOO!
When you publish a post on wordpress.com it suggests tags to add along with those you already have. I did not add any of the suggestions, the tags you see are my own choices, but I thought I should mention that the site suggested I add “old fart” as a tag.
