Body We met at the Tsongas tonight and watched the first two periods of the Devil’s game.  It was 2-1 Sound Tigers when the 2nd period ended at about 8:25.  We decided to head over to the Brewery at that point because the game was a little on the boring side and Lowell was playing kinda crummy.  Who woulda thunk that Lowell would score three goals in the third period to win the game.

So what.

The important news in the world of Boston sports is that the Red Sox absolutely destroyed the Colorado Rockies in game 1 of the World Series.  Dustin Pedroia lead off the bottom of the first with a shot into the monster seats.  That set the mood.  A couple of minutes later after Kevin Youkilis scored to make it 2-0 Sox the game was effectively over.  Final score: Boston 13, Colorado 1.  There were two highlights in this game.  One was Josh Beckett doing a very effective Cy Young impression by just carving up the Rockies’ line up.  The other was Rockies reliever Ryan Speier earning a one way ticket to roster cutsville by coming in with the bases loaded in the 5th inning and proceding to walk in three runs.  You can’t make shit like that up.  He walked Lugo, Ellsbury, and Pedroia, all in a row, and all with the bases loaded.  Three free runs for the Sox.  The only question left is, do they release him tonight or wait until morning.

Game 2 is tomorrow.  Jen and I will listen to Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and then watch the game at her place.  I  can’t wait for the magic to work again.
