Categories vs Tags

WordPress.com lets you put tags on your posts. I pretty much tag everything. I never did on Blogger, so almost everything that was imported from the old blog will be tag free.

When I imported the Blogger stuff it took the few tags I used (cancer being the important one as I tagged the posts relating to my mother’s illness) and made them categories. I didn’t want to break down my posts into distinct categories, so up until now I haven’t made any use of them.

Today though, I found a function in the Tools menu that lets you convert tags to categories and vice versa. I gave it a shot.

This is the first ever post entered directly into the iphoneography category. I can see how blown away you are. The conversion routine said it would keep my old tags. I really hope that’s the case.

Anyway… Here is Patches getting her belly pet.

Hipstawalk through Dover, NH

The Hipstamatic twitter account posted things like this:

There were meet ups scheduled all over the world. I didn’t see anything set up for anywhere in New England. I didn’t look all that hard though. Today we went to Portsmouth and Dover, NH. I decided to play the game and take a whole bunch of pictures for the #hipstawalk. These are all from downtown Dover, and they are all with Hipstamatic (not Ogle) and they are in no particular order. Shake to Shuffle was used extensively.

I’m glad I had a chance to do my part. Hipstamatic is not the best camera app for the iPhone (Camera+ probably gets that honor, at least in my book) but it is the coolest.
