Documentation Crunch Time

Remember back in the ’80s when all of those cold war movies showed the bad guys, the commies, stopping their poor oppressed citizens on the street and asking to see their papers? Remember how evil that felt? The poor saps having to cough up their legal documentation to the secret police at a moment’s notice?

I wonder why I have been thinking of that lately.

So a couple of weeks ago my US passport expired. My state drivers license is going to expire soon as well, and when I renew it I have to get the new federal “Real ID” because we live in a police state now. Unfortunately you need to have an appointment to setup the Real ID and a month ago when I booked one the best date I could get was after my license expires.

The good news is, my passport renewal went off without a hitch and I got it done WAY faster than I expected so I can use my new passport in the Real ID process. That’s cool. I wonder if I can renew my state drivers license first and then replace it a short time later with the federal document. I am guessing I would have to pay twice if I did that and I’ll be damned if I am going to give that tariffing fucker a penny more than I have to. Not that I am cynical about the collapse of my former country or anything. You know how it is.

Papers, please. Fucking authoritarian dictatorship fascist fucking fuckers.

Hypocrite Day

Today is Hypocrite Day here in the USA. Veteran’s Day is the day we honor those who served in the military during times of war. It’s also the day where those faux patriotic mother fuckers who just voted to put the fascists into power at the Federal level go out of their way to show you how patriotic they are and how much they support the troops that the president elect called suckers for serving and who sacrificed everything to rid the world of fascists only to hand the country to fascists on a silver fucking platter.

Hence why today will now be known as Hypocrite Day.

Wave those flags and tell us how much you support the troops, you fucking hypocrites. Hooray for you, you fucking hypocrites.

More January 6th Thoughts

I haven’t read Biden’s speech from earlier today yet. I have read some headlines and a couple of news articles and it sounds like he’s saying the right things. I can’t help thinking that it’s just lip service though. The repbulican party doesn’t exist anymore. It’s just the maga cult now. Liz Cheney isn’t going to change everyone in the party’s mind on all of this bullshit on her own. She’s just one voice being drown out by lies and greed and corruption and fascism. The Democrats look weak. One Senator is holding up the entire Biden agenda and it’s fucking farcical at this point. We are a joke.

At this point is there really anything left that’s worth saving? How about all of the vaccinated folks just move to Australia or something. It’s summer there, let’s get some sun. Let the fascists have their little flat earth, anti science, fascist wasteland for a few months before Covid puts an end to it. Let them eat themselves. Figuratively, and probably literally too.
