My wife is still sick. She seems to have the flu but she’s had some dizzy spells this morning. She has a doctor’s appointment but there is no way I am going to let her drive if she’s dizzy so I am going to stay out of work and take care of her today. I love her, it’s the least I can do.

This is the ruins of the church at the Mission San Juan Capistrano. The church was destroyed by an earthquake in 1812.

Sometimes when you go macro nuts you run the risk of getting stung by the bees hiding in the flowers. I was okay this time, but I managed to snag a couple of extreme insect close ups.

This is a 400 year old Spanish alter covered in gold filigree. It is in the chapel at the Mission San Juan Capistrano. The building is the oldest building in California still in use. It was a tiny little chapel and it was beautiful.

While driving south on “The 5” (which is what the locals call interstate route 5) we saw a mass of military helicopters. We had entered Camp Pendleton just in time to catch some exercises. It was pretty incredible.

At some point in the past I somehow managed to become a little macro photography crazy. Any time I see a flower I have to zoom in ridiculously close and shoot it. Sorry.
