I swapped out the Tone Wicker Big Muff Pi for the green Bass Big Muff Pi on the little stay at home pedal board.

The Bass Muff is supposed to be a copy of the green Sovtek Big Muffs. They don’t scoop out the mid range frequencies the way the classic muffs do so they fit better into a band mix. ElectroHarmonix has just released a new copy of the Russian Muffs called the Green Russian Muff. So I guess it’s a modern Bass Muff in a new box?

Now I’m jonzing for a high end Russian clone. I bought the Wren and Cuff Tri Pi 70 and it’s the nastiest, gnarliest, meanest, most ferocious fuzz pedal ever.

But…

Wren and Cuff’s best selling pedal is their green Russian clone, called the Tall Font Russian. I’m starting to want one. Really, really want one.

I have so much free space on my gig pedal board. I could fit, like 8 more fuzz pedals on this thing. That’s it. I’m getting a top of the line green Russian clone.

And the new EHX Green Russian too.

Today is November first.

NaSoAlMo… again… get ready for more posts about how I’m wanting to record new tunes but I’m not recording any new tunes.

It’s Halloween.  Happy Halloween!

Today is Halloween, but it’s not Halloween.  Allow me to explain.

Trick or Treating was scheduled in my town for October 31 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  Then on Sunday we got hit by a nasty wind storm.  We’ve been calling it a mini-hurricane even though it wasn’t a hurricane at all.  There were power outages all over town and yesterday schools were closed.  Today, schools were closed again and city hall was closed too.  But last night before bed, the police department announced via Facebook that trick or treating was still on.

I was sad about that.  The kids are at their dad’s tonight.  Yes they are both too old for trick or treating, but it’s still cool to give out candy to all the kids.  I wanted them here.  Also, I don’t get out of work until 5:30, and it takes more than an hour to get home.  I was going to miss the whole thing.

Then this morning, the PD announced that trick or treating was postponed until Thursday.  That would work for me.  It is a kid night, and I work from home.  Sure, the kids would be at their after school stuff and we have to go to a meeting at the high school so we would all miss it.  Oh… so maybe that isn’t a good thing, huh?

Then about an hour after they changed the date to Thursday, they announced that it was changed again!  This time to Saturday.  Will we be able to participate?  I haven’t a clue!  I am so trick or treat confused right now that I don’t even know what day it is anymore.  WOOHOO!

 

Happy Mueller Indictments Day!  The best part?  That guy from Webster wore a friggin’ wire!

This is in my front yard. It used to be in the woods. Then we had a storm last night and now it’s in my yard. Whoops.

I’m using Apple Music to expand my horizons a tiny bit. When I was in High School I read Hammer of the Gods, the Led Zeppelin biography. It mentions that Jimmy Page’s first choice for vocals was Terry Reid. I’d never heard of him, and until about 20 minutes ago had never actually heard him sing. Now that I’ve heard him, what do I think? He and Robert Plant sound really similar, but I think I prefer this guy. Weird, right?
