You know… just getting patriotic and shit. I do think Massachusetts needs a new flag. There was talk of changing it not too long ago. I think we should restart that discussion now that the united states is ending.

  1. We in Cali will have to follow. Cheeto doesn’t want to provide ant disaster support and one of his cronies is suggesting ‘assistance with conditions’. Having the 6th largest ecomomy in the world apparently doesn’t count on a federal level.
    I *might* support that if he’d give more support to other recoveries… NC and such.

    I hate him SO MUCH!!

    1. I read on Heather Cox Richardson’s substack this morning about TFG not wanting to provide assistance to California. Shameful! As I recall, a similar situation occurred the last time he was “president” and the only reason he agreed to provide support was that one of his aides mentioned how many votes he got in California. Every time I think he couldn’t possibly get any sleazier, he outdoes himself. Hang on, folks, it’s going to be a very bumpy four years (or more) ahead!

      1. Yes, on all accounts. He got a shocking amount of Cali votes this time, which contributed to my feeling like I don’t understand the world anymore.

        As a state, we hate him – but we don’t stop paying taxes or contributing because of it. The day after the election, Calif leaders started meeting to prep for his retaliations.

        1. He got a shocking amount of nationwide votes this time too — and I’m with you 100%: I don’t understand the world anymore. When I went to bed on the night of the election, I was sure I was going to wake up and find that Kamala had won by a landslide. I was shocked and pretty much in despair when I discovered otherwise! I hope it’s only 4 years we have to deal with this evil anti-Christ, but I fear he’s going to “postpone” all future elections. I hope with all my heart that I’ll be proven wrong.

          1. I suspected the election was going to bed bad. I think that polls showing otherwise indicated that people lied, because they knew it was effed up to vote Cheeto. Even if he doesn’t attempt to stay forever, thrrecwill be policy changes that F everyone for decades (Reagan’s bad choices are really hitying now). Plus, intoletance and nationalism are currently global. Everything is falling into place for no option but another world war.

            I’m very much bummed that no one used the past 2 years to enact laws (executive orders?) that would limit what the maga right can do.

    Interesting…what would you suggest? There are so many options. How do you build consensus? With everyone so divided it might be a big ask but email your state reps! When I’ve done that in the past they have been very responsive and helpful. I’ll send off an email too 🙂

  3. I’ve emailed my state reps several times in the past, but they’re all Republican and all but one of them ignore my email altogether. The one who doesn’t ignore it simply sends me a boilerplate “message” that says he received my email. Period. That’s what happens when you live in a state that’s supposed to be more or less purple but in reality is pretty darn red!
