There’s a line in a Jefferson Airplane song that I always thought was absolutely brutal. It referred to the war so it doesn’t exactly relate to our current situation:
War’s good business so give your son
And I’d rather have my country die for me(from Rejoice, written by Grace Slick)
That second line… for the first time in my life I sort of get it. I think I would say I’d rather have my country die for them then for me, but you get the idea. I’m paraphrasing here.

I’m having a hard time trying to get past this and write something that doesn’t have to do with Tuesday. It’s not working today

Yeah… I’ve been watching the global rise in nationalism, 1-up warfare, and now we have a power hungry, military lusting, greed baron re-elected to office and a generation of people who don’t remember the reality of sending their kids to die. It’s not looking great.
