I’m still not in a sharing mood (shockingly) so I’m not going to give specifics. Suffice to say if you ask me what I could do differently, my broken little brain is going to hyper focus 100% on negatives. You’ve been warned.
What could I do different becomes what must I do to stop failing as a human being. I must be a better husband, a better step father, a better son, a better uncle, a better brother, a better employee, a better supervisor, a better democrat, a better citizen, and a better neighbor… and that is just for starters.
The problem, of course, is that I don’t know how to do any of it. I’m working on it all though. I’ll do better. I’ll be better.
You need to stop “shoulding yourself”. Replace “must be” with “should” and that would be me in a different context. You’re probably very capable in all those categories but if you feel one is lacking, set a goal and make it s.m.a.r.t. – specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time bound. I hope you don’t mind me saying that! I’m full of how I could do things differently myself, but all would lead back to me now.

We could all be better at a lot of things, man. I’ve struggled, and still do struggle, with a lot of the things you speak of. You undersell yourself a lot, I have noticed. Guilty as charged here too.
While I think it’s awesome that people want to improve, we need to recognize the good in ourselves from time to time as well.
Be proud of some of the stuff you do! Hell, I’ve heard some of your music, for example, and it’s great. Be proud of what you created. You have the courage and the guts to put yourself out there. That is to be celebrated! And that music is a part of you. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Stepping off the soapbox now. lol

the fact that you consider improving all these things is what makes you the good person that you are… your willingness to improve… God sees this effort and He loves you so much for trying, even though we know we will fail at times… He knows this as well and offers grace… we just need to accept it and use it to fuel our commitment to better ourselves… hugs my friend

Wow…. guilt complex? I usually feel we’re all doing the best we can at any given time.

We all suck sometimes. Maybe we can do something differently some other times.
