Bloggerversary

11 years ago today I started my first Blogger account.  I wrote a seven million word summary of our Engaged Encounter Weekend, including about 5 million words on how silly their Natural Family Planning technique is.  Ah the memories.

I had started a little project to pull in all of my myspace blog posts.  I couldn’t import them but I could copy the HTML and add it to a back dated post.  I password protected all of them, but I only posted a fraction of them before I accidentally deleted the myspace backup folder.  That was years ago.  Last February I was backing up my RPM Challenge files on an external drive and I found my backup of that myspace folder.  Maybe I’ll finish that project, just for completeness sake.  My first attempt at a blog was on yahoo360, which was a short lived attempt at a social network in, what.. 2006?  2005 maybe? 2005 sounds right.  I found a link to my account on an old Blogger post (maybe the first post?) but the link is dead.  Yahoo deleted it all.  Those few initial attempts are gone for good.  Unless archive.com has them… they weren’t public though, so probably not.  I’d say 99% definitely not.

I slept like crap last night.  I went to bed at 10:45 and I went under immediately, but I kept waking up.  The first time was at 1:15 and I was convinced it was 6:00.  Nope.  It wasn’t 6:00 when I woke up at 4:00 either, or when I woke up again at 4:30.  I stopped trying at about 5:20 and I’ve been up ever since.  One of the numbers the Sleep Watch app tracks is called heart rate dip percentage.  Apparently your heart rate is supposed to drop while you sleep.  10-19% is marked as “average”.  20+ is marked as “good”.  Last night my heart rate dip was 0%.  The app marks that as “not optimal”.  I seem to find that my quality of sleep is more tied to this heart rate dip number than to the actual amount of restful sleep I get.  Greater than 10% and I’m usually okay.  Zero% and I’m exhausted all day.

Come bed time tonight I expect to be good and tuckered out.  We had to postpone band practice yesterday and we’re having a short one tonight in it’s place.  I’m pretty sure this is the first after work practice we’ve had since I joined.  I brought my guitar with me to work so I can go straight there.  I took the SG.  Last week I test drove the new string brand, stringjoy, on the Les Paul.  Tonight we see how it feels on the SG.  I will probably take my pedal board home after practice so that I can tweak it ahead of the upcoming gig and still have a chance to use it at the last rehearsal.  I am GASing big time over a few pedals right now but they are just a little too expensive for me to pull the trigger on.  One at a time, maybe.  All at once in order to use them at the gig?  Just a bit too much.  I stress myself out over the dumbest things, don’t I?

There was something else I was going to write a paragraph on… I don’t remember what it was.  Do any of you know?  No?  Oh well.  I guess this will do.
