I Thought it Would but it Won’t

I had a sad Apple fanboy moment the other day.  Allow me to share my pain.

There is a new operating system for the Apple Watch.  Watch OS 6.0.  I had heard that it would include some kind of SPL meter (Sound Pressure Level) or a decibel meter or some sort of thing like that.  There is a new app called Noise that will give you a warning if the noise level near you crosses a certain decibel threshold.  I thought that sounded like fun, and it would be a hoot to watch it lose it’s shit during a band practice.

The first thing I did after updating to OS 6.0 was look up how to activate the Noise app.

That’s when the crushing heartbreak hit.

My watch is Series 3.  The Noise app is only available on Series 4 and higher.

I thought the app would be on my watch but now I know it won’t.  No freaking out notifications during band practices for me.  I’m going to a concert tonight.  I half expected it to vibrate my arm clean off before the set break.  Nope.  No decibel fun for me.
