You know it’s a big day when fat boy wears a tie.
My Nikon D90 is charged. I have the long lens on it right now, but I’m taking the shorter lens too just in case. Being the family of the valedictorian has the perk of a good seat so there is a chance we might be too close for the long lens. We will see. The graduation ceremony is outside so lighting shouldn’t be an issue the way it was at the awards night. Those pictures just sucked.
We still have about four hours to go before the festivities start, but my wife, my in-laws, and I are going out to a late lunch/early dinner before hand so we need to get all dressed up now.
My step daughter has seemed nervous for the last couple of days. At times she has seemed rather freaked out. She doesn’t need to be. She’s going to be fine. She’s had to perform in front of big crowds before and this speech is nothing different. She’s also a black belt in karate so if she gets spooked she can just close her eyes and visualize that she’s roundhouse kicking every single person in the crowd right in the face. Problem solved.
I’m so proud of her. I can’t even stand how proud I am. I’ll try really hard for the rest of my life, but I am never going to be able to express to her just how proud I am.
