Flashback, October 30, 2013. The Boston Red Sox had a three games to two lead over the St Louis Cardinals in the World Series. In a moment of cautious optimism and in the hopes that the Sox would win the series that night I printed out a couple of baseball scorebook pages and kept the book for game six. The gamble paid off because they won that night and I didn’t waste my time booking a loss.
Fast forward back to tonight. The Red Sox have a three games to one lead over the Dodgers. For the first time since 10/30/18 they will play an elimination game in the World Series. A win tonight gives us the World Series Championship. So to celebrate….
3.5 hours to go until the first pitch. Red Sox in five has a really good ring to it. Fingers crossed. Cautious optimism.
