I Sure Do Suck at Predicting Hockey

Allow me to say right now that my days of rooting for the San Jose Sharks are over.  I don’t care that their roster is made up of a pile of good ex-Bruins, they have screwed me over for the last time.  Fuck them.  Done.  End of story.

Montreal and Philly, I was wrong and I’m totally happy about it.  I HATE the Flyers… but I HATE Montreal even more.  I am very happy that the Canadians got bounced.  Thank you Philadelphia.  Thank you very much.

Penguins and the Rangers I got right.  Pittsburgh is smoking right now.  I was hoping they would sweep and go 8-0 for the first two rounds.  That would be 80’s Oilers-esque.  The fact that they pummelled a New York team makes it that much sweeter.

Detroit and Colorado I picked Colorado but I knew they were going to lose.  I should have gone with my head over my heart on this one.  It might have been a fun series if not for every single player on the Avs roster having a season ending injury.  By game four they looked more like Tewksbury High School than they did the Colorado Avalanche. 

San Jose and Dallas… see above.  Screw you Sharks. 

So now we move on to the Conference Finals… Round 3, and my picking score is a super suck 50%.  Six out of twelve.  Fan-Freakin’-Tastic.

Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia:  I don’t think the Penguins are capable of losing.  Its like Sidney Crosby is picking up the team and placing it on his shoulders… and then Evgeni Malkin is picking up Crosby and putting him on his shoulders… the end result is some weired looking balancing act from a retarded circus that just proves I have no friggin’ clue what I’m talking about.  Suffice to say the Penguins are going to win.  I don’t see a sweep, but I don’t see more than six games either.

Detroit vs Dallas:  Fuck the San Jose Sharks.  Fuck them right in their ear.  I don’t particularly enjoy watching the Red Wings.  I don’t particularly enjoy watching the Stars either.  Both teams have a reputation for choking in the later rounds, so one of them will beat that rap.  I think the fan in me prefers Dallas.  I’m not sure why.  I am going to pick with my brain this time though and say Detroit wins it.  Dallas looked good beating those assholes in San Jose, but I still think Detroit is the better team.

So I am looking for a Detroit vs Pittsburgh cup final.  Given my picks thus far I’d say there is a 50-50 chance.  Urgh, I sure do suck at predicting hockey.
