These folks are trying to raise money for pediatric cancer research by breaking the record for the world’s longest hockey game. 40 players are going to play for 10 days. The game starts tomorrow and is being played at Saiker’s Acres in Sherwood Park, Alberta… so should you find yourself in western Canada within the next 10 days you should check out the game. The donations link on the home page goes through the Alberta Cancer Foundation, and unfortunately for me it says it can only accept online donations from within Canada… so I guess I’ll do it the old fashioned way and mail them a check…. or cheque, as our Canadian neighbors would say. 10 days… I bet the game will be almost as high scoring as last night’s debacle in Lowell. Worcester needed 60 minutes to score 6 times. Extend that out to 10 days and see how much damage they could have done to my Devils. (1 goal per hour for 240 hours equals 240 goals… yup, I can do math.) |
