I really don’t have anything to say. I haven’t done much prep work for RPM. I noodled around on the guitar a couple of times. The first time was painful on the fingertips. The second time really wasn’t. That’s good. I need to pick up a few 9v batteries for the slew of stomp boxes. When I bought my Marshall amp on ebay the seller threw in a few pedals with it. I traded all but one of them in at the Daddy’s in Salem and bought a pile of mic stands for Break Even. The one I didn’t get rid of was a new-looking cry baby wah. I of course am the King of wah-wah and the last time I used mine it sounded pretty ratty. (pots tend to get dirty when they are exposed to the elements) I might break that new-looking puppy out of the box and give it a try. Maybe I’ll write 10 songs that use wah all the way through. Like Robin Trower’s third record. As for next month, I still don’t know what I’m going to do. I suppose I’ll try to write until the well runs dry and then fill in the gaps with some old unpublished stuff. Anything to get me to 10 songs by March 1st. My Uncle has been in the hospital since early November and he is coming home tomorrow. I’m very happy about that. He has had a number of surgeries on his leg dealing with blood flow issues stemming from diabetes. He went to see his doctor for a check up to see how the last surgery (from June or July?) was healing and more than two months later he’s still there. Christmas day we almost lost him. He pulled out some stitches and almost bled to death. After that he was restrained in his bed and on a respirator. It was really terrible to see him that way. He couldn’t talk, he had trouble responding to stimuli, and we were basically unsure if he was lucid or not. A few days after Christmas he lost his leg below the knee. Obviously that was a last resort kind of move, but he immediately began improving. A few days later he was moved from Quincy hospital to a rehab center in Braintree. Now he’s scheduled to come home tomorrow. His landlord is installing a wheelchair ramp onto his house, but it’s not ready yet so my brother and I get to carry him into the house. Let the Lug lug I always say. It’ll be good to have him home though. After we get The Unc settled in, Jen and Lisa and Ken and I are going to The Opera House in Boston to see Spamalot. My sister is giving me incessant grief over this as I am not a show tunes kinda guy. I keep telling her that while I usually detest all forms of musical theater I happened to be a fanatical Monty Python nut. Hell, the three Python flicks are all at least partly musicals. I had been excited about seeing this until I read that one of the twits from American Idol was in the cast. I sincerely hope that he’s only in the Broadway cast and not the touring cast. Please Please Please. Speaking of musicals, I finally worked up the courage to watch Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter with Jen. She actually watched the whole thing and did not dump me when it finished. In fact, she told me she really liked it… even though it was the most awful thing she had ever seen. It must be love! Tonight we’re going on a night out with Jen’s co-workers. I’m going to be late… Framingham to Nashau at rush hour is a fun ride. The place we’re going to has live music… I wonder if the band needs a lead guitar player? Heh heh… am I getting the bug again? I might be. What else can I talk about? Probably nothing. So I guess it’s time to stop. Good Day |
