RPM Challenge 2008

I talked about this quite a bit last year.  It is a challenge to write and record an album (which they losely define as 10 songs or 35 minutes of original material) during the month of February.  Last year I found out about it after it started so I tried doing it on my own.  In March I recorded 10 old songs that either fell into the don’t-really-hate-it or don’t-remember-it-well-enough-to-hate-it categories.  In April I tried to do it with newly written material and I came up short.  I managed 7 songs but no lyrics.  I sort of lost interest in it by the end of the month because a certain special some one had come along and gave me something more fun to focus on.

Now here we are in 2008 and February is just a couple of weeks away.  I have significantly less time available this year (happily so) but I am going to give it another shot.  I even created an account on their website to try and guilt myself into getting it done.  (boy would it suck to come back to this next year and see a reminder of failure written in HTML for all to see)

It may be defeatist of me to say this, but I expect to fail.  However, I also expect to have some fun doing so.
