Body You think four days will last forever, until you get to day five and find yourself back at work.  That’s how I feel right now, now that the Thanksgiving holiday is over.  I want to go back and do it all again.

We celebrated Thanksgiving twice this year.  On Turkey Day itself I was at Jen’s, my brother was at his wife’s parents, and my sister was at her husband’s parents.  My parents visited my uncle in the hospital.  Then on Sunday we all met at my parents’ house and had Thanksgiving Part Deux… we did it all again.  I have never eaten so much turkey in my life.  Gobble-Freakin’-Gobble.  Of course, both celebrations were excellent.  Probably the best part was when Harry’s grandmother asked him what he was thankful for this year and he responded with an emphatic, “pie.”

On Saturday Jenn, the kids, my brother, his wife, and I all went to the North Pole.  I shit you not.  We went for a ride on the Polar Express.  It picked us up in Haverhill, MA and took us up to visit Santa and the elves.  The whole ride, round trip, took less than two hours, and the North Pole looked remarkably similar to Woburn, MA, but Santa was there and I totally believe we were on the top of the world.  If you don’t believe me, watch this little slide show.  Proof:

Apart from globe trotting and turkey eating, Jen and I watched a lot of Star Wars, and a lot of Lowell Devils hockey.  I decided to take advantage of the miniscule crowds by moving up close to take some pictures.  On Wednesday 11/21 I snuck into section 0, row 4 and took a few.  On Sunday 11/25 Jen and I snuck into section T row 1.  Here are a few pictures for your hockey geek enjoyment:

This week I think we’re planning on watching some more Star Wars tonight, visiting my Uncle on Tuesday, sleeping on Wednesday, and hopefully seeing Mary Lou Lord on Thursday.  The weekend will include some Christmas Tree shopping, something called the Festival of Trees in Methuen… I think it’s decorated Christmas trees that were donated by local organizations and then displayed together.  Sunday is what we are very insensitively calling the Dead Relatives Tour, which is our annual visit to the graves of my mother’s parents, and my father’s mother and aunts and uncles.  The name is pretty mean sounding, but the event itself is always a very happy occassion.

That’s it for me today…. good day and happy post-thanksgiving leftovers binging.
