Body I think I’m losing my camera phone touch.

Not long ago, if anything interesting happened on the road between home and work I would snap a crappy camera phone shot or two.  This morning though… I was too slow.

I’m driving down Monument Road in Concord, the road that passes that little bridge where that little thing we call the American Revolutionary War began.  I was the third car in the little line of traffic.  Suddenly, out of nowhere (well… out of the tree line on the right side of the road actually… but saying out of nowhere sounds more dramatic… this is a really lame little story and I’m trying to pass it off as interesting… gimme a break, okay?) runs a wild turkey!  He darted across the road in front of the first car in line into the tree line on the left and up a steep little hill.

Too bad I didn’t have my camera phone open for that one, huh?  Thinks I.  Then I get to the spot where the daredevil wild turkey ran off the road, and there are three of them right there!  So after thinking I was too slow with the phone, I was again too slow with the phone!

That’s it, from now on I’m leaving the phone open on the dashboard with the camera function turned on… which means I’ll go a year or two without seeing anything interesting.

Is this what it’s like for news reporters on a daily basis?  I don’t know how Geraldo does it!
