Make room for a new banner at Fenway Park kids, the Red Sox have won it all again.

The Rockies kept fighting tonight.  They are a hell of a team, but they had the bad luck to run into a monsterous Boston Red Sox team.

Jon Lester was awesome tonight.  Jonathan Papelbon was huge tonight.  Mike Lowell and Jason Varitek were fantastic tonight.  Jen and I made sure not to skip any good luck superstitions tonight.  We had hot dogs for dinner… we listened to Sgt Pepper a couple of times… we had pretzels (lots of them… I think we’re both going to puke)… and we had the ice cream sundaes.

A few years ago I read The Iliad and The Odyssey.  In those two poems it is demonstrated how the Greeks would pay homage to the gods by sacrificing drink.  The deal was before you took a chug from your mug you would spill a little out onto the floor in honor of the gods.  A sacrifice if you will.  This custom came to mind as the Rockies were pulling close tonight.  So we gave it a try.  We sacrificed a pretzel to the Baseball gods:

Say what you will kids, but the Red Sox are now World Champions… it might be just a coincidence… but then again it might not.

Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox on their 2nd championship in four seasons, and their 7th over all.

I am so happy
I am so happy
The Red Sox won it all
I am so happy
