| Body | I’ve had a toothache off and on for a few days now. During lunch this afternoon it switched on. It has yet to switch off. I’m about an hour away from chugging a bottle of tylenol in the hope that I can get to sleep tonight.
I spent six days in Wisconsin and took 1064 pictures. I’m going to New York City on Sunday, staying for three days, and planning on taking at least 1064 more pictures. The Lowell Devils home opener is one month and one day from today. The Devils AHL franchise (in Lowell last year and in Albany, NY prior to that) hasn’t made the playoffs in about 100 years. I hope this year is different. The Red Sox are losing to Tampa Bay, 4-3 in the top of the ninth. We need some bottom of the ninth come back and walk off magic tonight. Papi Ortiz is scheduled to hit third. Come on Papi! After watching one game at Miller Park in Milwaukee I am now firmly on the replace Fenway Park bandwagon. It was so nice to have enough room for my legs. Imagine, a baseball stadium that I can go to and not have to settle for standing room tickets. What a concept! I told myself I wasn’t going to spend money on anything until my recent car repairs were paid for and I had returned from New York. That explains why I joined netflicks today and why I ordered another Neil Peart book from amazon today. I love the sound will power makes when it implodes. Oh yeah, I had the book delivered two day air too, just to make sure it gets here before I leave for NYC. Also, in case you were wondering, my netflicks queue does include the cinematic masterpiece of our age, Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. Nothing but quality for my netflicks queue. Julio Lugo draws a walk to lead off the bottom of the ninth. My desk was moved to a new location today. I no longer get to see the hawk that lives behind the building, and I now get the sun in my eyes all afternoon… but it’s worth it not to have to sit under the soft-core-gay-kiddy-porn-looking artwork that someone thought would be appropriate to hang on the wall. Pedrioa popped out. One out, one on… here comes Papi. He hit his 30th home run earlier tonight. Last Thursday we were sitting at an outdoor restaurant called the Rock Bottom Brewery which is located right on the Milwaukee river eating a decent lunch… okay, it was a so so lunch but the atmosphere made up for it… and over the sound system comes R.E.M.’s “So. Central Rain.” and I had one of those “oh yeah!” moments where I remember that a band I was once very much into was really very good… and worthy of my being into them. Reckoning is a hell of a record. Life’s Rich Pageant is a fantastic record. Document is another fantastic record. I sort of realized that I missed being an R.E.M. fan. It’s one of those weird you-getting-old-Robert kinda moments. Can I call them or what? David Ortiz just hit a two run walk off home run to beat Tampa Bay. I think I’ll click the post button now.
