Body Finally… the vacation has arrived.

Sort of.  I’m on-call overnight tomorrow and that will suck sufficiently to take the fun out of 16 hours worth of vacation time, but I will rise above the troubles and complete my vacation with passion and vigor.

That is the worst bullshit I’ve ever written… what the hell… rise above the troubles?  I need a vacation worse than I thought.

On the potentially good news front, Mike had his CT scan on Thursday and it looks like it is just an infection.  They gave him some anti-biotics to take for a couple of weeks and then they’ll give him another scan.  I will continue to keep my fingers crossed.

Today is a good day for buying tickets to concerts.  Jen snagged a couple of tickets to see Mission of Burma at the Institute for Contemporary Arts in Boston.  While seeing Burma is not quite the event that seeing Rush is, it’s pretty close.  On top of that, I got us a couple of tickets to see Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donnelly at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge.  They will each do a solo set and then they’ll play together for a while.  I haven’t seen the two of them onstage together since I saw Throwing Muses open for REM at Great Woods back in 1989.  This show may end up being a bigger deal to me than seeing Burma again.  I’m really looking forward to it.

It’s a little after noon right now, and already it’s turning out to be an excellent day.

Enjoy
