Body The time is just about upon us.  Tomorrow at 5:30pm my big sister, Lisa, gets hitched.  I’m terribly happy for her.  Her fiance (until tomorrow night), Ken, is a great guy.  I’m really proud of both of them.

I’m in the wedding.  I’m an usher.  I will ush.  (bride side or groom side please?) I’ve gotten used to being the best man, but being an usher is going to be a nice change of pace… in other words, I get to wear a tux and look all classy but I don’t have to give the toast!  WOOHOO!!  Three of the last four weddings I’ve gone to have had me as the best man.  The fourth was a public jilting so that one doesn’t even count.

So far there are a couple of snags in the planning.  My uncle, who is godfather to both me and my sister, recently had surgery on his leg and will be unable to attend.  That sucks.  We’ll miss him.  My aunt, who is also my godmother, and two of my cousins are supposed to be flying up from Alabama to make it to the rehearsal dinner tonight.  Unfortunately they were stuck in Tampa, FL last night due to bad weather on the East coast.  We’re not sure if they’re going to get here in time for tonight, but they should make it okay for tomorrow.  Also, my cousin Erin, who is also the Maid of Honor, was stung by a bee on her foot the other day and her foot has swelled up to twice normal size.  She couldn’t get into any shoes as of last night.  Hopefully she’ll be better by Saturday though… our fingers are crossed.

So tonight is the rehearsal, then the rehearsal dinner.  After that it’s back to the hotel for a little while to kill time before heading over to the Barnes & Noble in Burlington to pick up a couple of copies of the new Harry Potter book.  That shouldn’t be too much of a mob scene, should it?  Jen and I saw the new movie at the Jordan’s IMAX in Reading last night… in 3D.  I have to say, 3D technology has changed quite a bit since I sat in the living room getting the shit scared out of my by the channel 56 Creature Double Feature.  The effect was usually fantastic.  It lost some of it’s power when you were looking at actors.  The people on the screen would show up in three dimensions, but the people themselves were still flat… so it looked more like a pop up book or cardboard cutouts.  Still though… Woah!

Tomorrow morning Ken wants to take the groomsmen (me and my brother, his two brothers, and his best man/best friend) out to play some miniture golf and grab some ice cream at Kimballs.  Who am I to question the Kimballs logic?  The Best Ice Cream I’ve Ever Had… and I’ve had a shit load of ice cream… just look at how freakin’ fat I am.  Then it’s back to the hotel for a while until 2:00 when we have to move The Granite Post.  I don’t quite have the energy to go into the story of The Granite Post right now, but I’ll probably give an explanation when I post wedding pictures.  After that we get into the tuxedos and head off to the church.  Lisa and Ken get hitched, then we go back to the hotel and have a little shindig of a reception.

Sunday is brunch at that hotel, then moving of The Granite Post again, and then Jen and I are going to a cook out.  This is one heavily packed weekend.  I’ll have Monday and Tuesday to rest up again before starting a whole knew ultra busy weekend when Mike and Tammy and Cecilia come home for a week.  Technically Cecilia isn’t coming “home” as she’s only about 8 months old and has never actually been to Massachusetts (civilization) before, but I have a sneaking suspicion that once she gets here she’s not going to want to go back.  Unless of course the lure of the bouncey swing baby seat is too strong.  I’ll forgive her if she wants to go back to Wisconsin for that.

Well I’ve been getting lazy with these little bloggie posts and I failed to write one that I had planned to do over the last week.  On Saturday night Jen and I went to The Paradise to see Buffalo Tom.  I was going to post a little picture set but I didn’t have the time… so here’s another google picasa slide show.  Enjoy, and wish my sister and her soon-to-be-husband good luck!

Good day!
