Justin Bissett 2/9/00-6/26/07

For the last year and a half or so I’ve been posting occassional little blurbs to this site about Justin Bissett. He’s the seven year old son of a friend and musical collegue of mine. He was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor back in January 2006. At that time it looked as though he was down to his last weeks. Everyone hoped for a miracle, and initially we seemed to get one. Justin stabilized enough to begin cancer treatments. He responded very well. His tumor shrunk some and his symptoms abated. Recently though his symptoms started to return and his MRIs started showing new cancer growth. We started hoping for another miracle, but this time it was not to be. Justin’s dad posted to his website early this morning that Justin passed away last night at 9:30 pm.

My heart goes out to Justin’s family, his parents Jeff and Darlene and his big sister Casey.
