| Body | Comp day… ahhhhh
Stayed in bed until almost 11am. ahhhhhh Relaxing Thursday. I could get used to this. Of course it’s going to be odd doing the work=>off=>work=>weekend thing. Oh well. Last night was a good/bad type of night. Not really bad, just annoying. I went to the Middle East to see the Mary Timony Band. They were headlining a three band bill so I was assuming they’d go on around 11:30. I got there are 11:20 only to find out they went on at 11:15. Damn it! Even worse, I tried to parallel park on a side street, and I failed miserably. My parallel parking skills are celebrated world wide, but last night I felt like a tourist visiting the big city for the first time. I just sucked. The set was good. Everything I heard was from one of the two most recent records, which is good because those are the only two Mary Timony records I’ve heard. The last one came out on my birthday, May 8, so it was probably a bit too soon to hear new material. The mix was a tad on the muddy side, but not overly so. My sneaking suspicion that the song “BackwardsForwards” would smoke onstage was proven right. I never saw Helium live, and last night sort of made me regret that more than usual. Mary can sure play the guitar. Tonight I’m going to a New Hampshire Fisher Cats game. My girlfriend’s company is having an outing and she asked me to come along. This is the first time I’ll meet any of her friends/associates/colleagues and I’m trying not to be nervous. The scary thing is, I might have to route against the Fisher Cats because they are from Manchester and my hockey hatred for Manchester may bubble up to the surface. We shall see. Okay, now for the obligatory Mary Timony Band pictures. I never really noticed just how dark it is at the Middle East Upstairs. I’m surprised anything came out. The spot I was standing in made it tough for me to get pictures of the whole band, but I had a nice clear shot of Ms Timony for most of the time. I altered the photos on my PC with it’s crappy monitor, and the end results didn’t look like crap at the time. Of course I’ve now checked them out on a good monitor and sure enough… crap. Anyway, here are a few….
