| Body | Last week I scheduled a day off from work for today. I made a mental list of things to do, most of them involved me goofing off. Playing the guitar, blowing money on things I don’t need, watching the X-Files on dvd like the consummate dork I am.
What did I end up doing on my scheduled off day for Friday the 13th? I got sick and spent most of the day in bed. Friday the 13th indeed! >partial subject change< The Lowell Devils have three games left. Tonight at home against Portland, tomorrow on the road against Portland, and Sunday afternoon on the road against Worcester. I’m going to all of them. Head cold/sore throat/ear aches be damned! I bought tickets to these stupid games, I’m going to them! Go ahead immune system, try and stop me! So what if the (building formerly known as the) Portland Civic Center is 100 miles away… I’m there! (along with a big bag of cherry halls, a bottle of aspirin, and a box of Kleenex) Oh and for the record, I just found out my brother and his wife are going to the Red Sox game tonight. I’m not jealous at all cause I’ll be at the Tsongas Arena watching a minor league hockey team choke like the ’04 Yankees. >subject change< Another X-Files on dvd creepy-fun moment. Last night I went to bed ridiculously early but couldn’t get to sleep, so I popped on a dvd. The episode opens with a creepy guy kidnapping a pretty high school girl in order to do god knows what to her. Asshole. As he’s breaking into the girl’s bedroom the camera stops on a digital alarm clock. The time was 10:05 pm. Right below my television is my cable box and the clock on the box read 10:03 pm. Whew, thought I was in for a creepy tv-real life coincidence. The creepy kidnapper/asshole says a line to his kidnap victim as he takes her: “No one is going to spoil this.” The next shot is another woman working at a diner who falls over in some sort of seizure and starts repeating the same line. Nice and spooky huh? Good set up to the episode. (all of this happens before the opening credits) but as the scene ends the camera pans down to her digital watch which reads 10:05 pm. I look down at the clock on the cable box and it reads (you guessed it) 10:05 pm! spoooooooooooooooooooooky |
