A few minutes ago I was sitting in my room watching the Boston Bruins play the Ottawa Senators on NESN.

Bruin forward Brad Boyes has been having a rough year. Last year as a rookie he put up great numbers for a terrible team. This year however he is mired in the stereotypical sophomore slump.

On two instances today he brutally botched shots on goal. In the first case he had a wide open net to shoot at and just flubbed the shot. In the second case he had a nice pass come to him for a one-time shot and just missed it.

Just after he missed the second shot I yelled at my television. This is something I do on a fairly regular basis, but this time I said something that, while it was meant as an innocent heckle of a pro athlete, sounded like an accusation that could land some one in prison and on a sex offenders list.

I yelled, “You suck Boyes!”

Now that you’ve read it, try saying it out loud.

Yeah, I owe Brad Boyes an apology. Sorry about that one. I wasn’t referring to you as a pedophile, it just sounded that way.

I bet he gets that all the time.
