I don’t know what I did, but it hurts.

Monday morning I woke up with a lot of pain in the upper part my left arm.  I don’t know what I did to earn it.  I don’t sleep on my left side, so it wasn’t that.  I haven’t a clue.  It hurts when I move my arm away from my body, or when I try and reach backward.  It hasn’t gotten better over the week.  In fact, I think it’s worse.  I’ve been favoring it this whole time and now my neck hurts too.  Yippee.

My sleep wasn’t very good last night.  I woke up a few times and then had some trouble falling back to sleep.  The numbers on the sleep tracking app were all screwy.  It said I was awake for over an hour after 3:00am.  I most definitely was not awake during that time.  The pain in my arm was a little bit of the problem, but not much.  If I moved funny it would hurt, but mostly it was just a dull ache that didn’t keep me awake.  I did have issues with the CPAP mask though.  At one point I felt a leak at the base of the mask, under my mouth.  At another point I could feel air escaping out of the side.  I was able to fix it both times, and the CPAP tracking app didn’t register any bad leaks.  I’m thinking that some nights I spring leaks like that without waking up.  That could explain the numbers.  I also, for the second night in a row, took off my mask for whatever reason and then fell asleep before I could put it back on.  My wife didn’t wake up either time, so snoring must have been kept at a minimum.  I need to figure out a way to stop that from happening.

The kids have been visiting their father’s step mother in Pennsylvania this week.  They are flying home today.  They are literally in the air as I type this.  I am watching the plane’s progress on a flight tracking site.  They took off about four minutes early, followed the flight plan for about 10 minutes, and then turned around.  Turned around?  Then after a few minutes they turned around again.  Once they retraced their route they were back on their flight plan and have been on it ever since.  They are scheduled to land in about 40 minutes, 24 minutes late due to their big giant circle.  It’s like the pilot was showing off and did a big mid-air donut.  Dooode, sick move brah.

As of this moment there will be a band practice on Sunday.
There will be rocking.
There will be rolling.

There were like four other things I was going to mention but I forget what I wanted to say.  Don’t get old, kids.  The memory is the first thing to go.

  1. I think a trip to your doctor is in order! My dad had pain in his upper left arm for about a week. When he finally decided to see a doctor, turned out he was in the middle of a heart attack! I don’t want to scare you, but upper-left-arm pain is something that should be looked, pronto!
